A leading family-owned company providing engineering and technology services and solutions for government, ICT and defence sectors wanted to continue to upskill and train their people leaders and executive in good management practices. With recent changes to legislation concerning respect at work and psychosocial issues the company wanted to enable their leadership to understand their obligations to ensure top-down messaging to all of their staff.
We arranged for the building of a bespoke LMS program for the company to enhance corporate maturity and grow the already great culture within the organisation. The program will comprise initially of four modules once completed with the first two modules rolled out this past month. These two modules covered Sexual Harassment, as governed by the Respect at Work legislation enacted in November 2022, and Psychosocial Hazards and the Model Code of Practice rolled out by Safe Work Australia, which came into effect in August 2022.
Also, as part of reconignsing that the tone is set from the top, we undertook in-person training with the senior leaders, building on what was rolled out in the LMS modules to ingrain learning and discuss the practical elements of the topics covered.
The result for this company is a solid understanding of both the theory and practical elements of their obligations around sexual harassment and psychosocial hazards and the need to remove/mitigate both from the workplace mitigated/removed from the workplace. With both the LMS and the face-to-face training being run in tandem, risks are mitigated and learning solidified to enable this company to continue to operate a safe and educated workplace culture. What made this opportunity that much better was that key individuals within the organisation were willing to invest resources and people to upskilling their leaders and teams. We love working with organisations who take this seriously and where the most senior leaders geniunely care about the welfare of their people.
